Summary

This poem can be called a motivation for all other poets of the world. Because he says in this poem that he doesn’t write poetry for money.

This poem is dedicated to those lovers who are busy making love to each other in the warmth of the night. At the beginning of the poem, he describes a situation where the lovers are engaged in making love with each other on the moonlit night. He mentioned at the beginning how a poet can write a poem in that situation. Here he used some images where it is seen that the lover is lying with her head on her lover’s lap and sometimes, he shows the lover with her head in her lover’s arms talking about love and exchanging happiness and sorrow with each other.

Then the poet talks about why he has written the poem. According to him, he writes poetry not for money, wealth, or any worldly needs, but he writes poetry to express his inner desire. Whether someone likes his poems or not, whether someone praises his poems or not, or whether his poems are accepted by those lovers or not, he will continue to write poems.

He writes poetry for his readers and those readers are very important to the poet. Because his readers are the only ones in the world who will welcome his words and understand the meanings hidden within them.

He said that as a poet he never feels proud because his main aim is to make poems useful to people, to help people grow in humanity. And pride can never be a part of humanity. He says that those who have departed from this world need no poetry and have nothing to learn from poetry. Because they have learned a lot and know a lot from the past lives they have lived.
